Fishing!

This summer I went fishing quite a bit and here are a few pictures from my adventures.

This down in Hagerman below the fish hatcheries. This one is the nice little stream we fished in most of one of the days.

This is a huge sturgeon that was in the little creek we were fishing in. He was about 5.5 feet long!

Project 52

Ok I know I have been slacking quite a bit on posting and I know I really have no good reason for doing this but I promise I will be posting things soon I just finally got some of my pictures off my laptop and onto my desk top so hopefully that will motivate me.

So a friend of mine was doing this as part of her New Years Resolution dum dum dummmm and i read a million books anyways so I thought why not I can probably do that.

The goal: read 52 books in one year. (One for each week or so)

Rules:

1. You may read at your own pace, but I recommend one book per week.
2. No re-reads. If you began a book but didn't finish that is ok.
3. No magazines, ebooks, audio books, textbooks, etc.
4. Acceptable forms: All fiction, non-fiction, and collections of essays, short stories or poetry. Graphic novels count as long as there are lots of other types of books being read too!

P.S. You should all join in :) and if you have any good recommendations you should let me know what they are.

So I'm doing it the first book I read was Mossy Creek by a bunch of different authors. It was pretty good a quick light read that was composed of short stories. This book was recommended by the ladies at Diva Cafe in the book club section and while it's not my favorite it was an ok read. Now I am about half way through my second book :) Other New Years Resolutions for me included:

1. Don't bite my nails (I make this one every year and fail miserably every year but it's good to try)

2. Be able to do 100 push ups (I actually was doing pretty well with this one till I fell down the stairs and hurt my shoulder then got sick :( )

3. Not to cut or dye my hair for 6 months (For anyone that knows me this is hard since I like to change my hair by the second but I make this one every year to try and give my hair a chance to grow and to not be damaged by the coloring it every 2 seconds.)

4. Stay on budget (so far my budget keeps changing so this has been a hard one especially since I just started working again and don't get a pay check till February)

Hopefully you all are sticking to your resolutions as well :)

Twenty Five at Twenty Five

It's my birthday and for my birthday I have made a list of 25 things I want to do while I'm 25. so here goes!

1.Get my wrist tattoo that I have wanted for 2 years.
2.Travel to somewhere new.

6.Let my hair grow long.
7.Go swimming.
8.Get a real job.
9.Lose 15 pounds.

16.Buy a Rubik's cube and learn how to solve it.

19.Watch singing in the rain and it's a wonderful life.
20.Stop biting my nails.

22.Eat: Baba Ganoush, Papusus, Pho, Beignet and Marzipan.
23.Go rafting.
24.Get a pedicure, manicure, and facial all in 1 day.
25.Shoot a gun and hit what I was aiming at.

Extra Life!

For the last two years I have done Extra Life which is an organization like relay for life where you play games for 24 hours and people donate money to you for playing. They donate the money to children's hospitals. This year my donations went to St. Luke's Children's hospital in Boise Idaho. Here is my donation page. This year thanks to Ken and Wendy I was able to meet my goal :) Here are a few pictures from the day.

First here is one from first thing in the morning. I look horrible because I had gotten back from a run a bit earlier and was playing Wii fit.
After that I made breakfast and started in on the game playing. Most of the day I played Plant Tycoon since WOW was having issues.

The Blonde Complex

Ok So anyone that has ever met me at some point has thought if not said to my face, "Wow she is (insert random special person insult)" if they haven't they themselves are in fact a special person. :P

When I was younger and someone said "shes a blonde" I always thought "well DUH!" now that I am older and not so blonde I get the connotations but catch myself thinking the same thing when someone says that phrase. When I was in high school I was as blonde as can be, both hair color wise and ditz wise. I had no problem admitting that I was a complete ditz and still don't but recently it has occurred to me that maybe I should go back to blonde so more of my "special acts" are dismissed because of the hair color.

My theory on why blondes have more fun is because people don't worry about the things they do that are dumb because of their hair color. This stereotype has both worked for and against blondes.

I dyed my hair a darker color after I started college because I thought to myself "Self I'm in college now, that means I am an adult so I need to start being taken seriously" obviously I figured I would get more respect with a darker shade. I foolishly thought that if I darkened my hair I would stop doing so many dumb things so that being the case I went from this:

to something a little more sophisticated. I then came to the realization that even though I was sporting a different color (dark brown at the time) I still did a lot of stupid things.

In my world being special entails being clumsy, having brain farts, accident prone, saying and doing dumb things etc. That being said I am the most special person in the world. Thinking that changing my hair color would change this was a BIG special moment because it did not help one bit. I still have a million random pictures with my hair every color in the book and most of them look something like these:

Even with the super blonde gone I am still a HUGE dork. This month alone I have managed to hurt myself with a tape measure, and run into several light switched resulting in huge bruises and my hair is a light brown atm.

I am proud to be a special person. I feel like its part of my dorky charm. As an added bonus I always have something to laugh at. No matter what color my hair is I am a true blonde at heart.

Now I must be off to do something that will make people give me questionable looks! :D

New

This year has been full of new adventures for me. I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason so with all the surprises and things that happened this summer I must say my faith has been reaffirmed because everything has turned out better than I could have ever expected. I now have a new apartment which is pet friendly so my kitties can live with me.

And lastly but not leastly :P New relationships :) I made some amazing friends this summer and met one of the most amazing people I know. Yes its Jeremy. He has been amazing in the short time I've known him (ok well not so short but in the short time we've been dating). There are so many wonderful things about him that I admire. I bring this up because today he has been sober for one whole year. I am so proud of him for this achievement. It shows real courage, dedication and strength to do something like that and I really admire him for it. This has defiantly been an interesting year but I wouldn't change one bit :)

Meet Miss Mia

I moved back to Moscow and brought Kassie with me. She has been super sad that she didn't have any friends to play with like she did at home. Nate decided he wanted a kitten so he adopted one from the shelter and I would like to introduce Miss Mia (Me-Ah). She is a sweetheart but constantly causing trouble. Here are a few pics.

Ok Ok Catch up time!

So I keep getting yelled at because I am bad at this game. I have been SUPER busy and haven't really had time to update so here goes. In May school finished I got all A's and B's YAY me! I had a couple of internship opportunities this summer so I took the one that I didn't have to pay rent at and moved home for the summer to work at High Desert Milk in Burley.

Here is a short video about the plant I worked at. I'm the one in pink around 2:45 lol. I worked in the lab which I loved the work since thats what I am going into for school so I better like it. My relationship with Nate ended in May. I went camping and fishing a ton this summer and had a great time. Here is one of the pictures I took up camping this is from the top of one of the hills. Shortly after this picture was taken I tipped the four wheeler injuring myself yet again. I am ok now I have an AC separation in my shoulder and can't do anything too physical with it for a few more months. Ok the damn formatting messed up again so I guess I will continue writing and the picture will be at the bottom. I started dating Jeremy and have had a great time with him. Now I am back up to Moscow. I am moved in and mostly unpacked. Started school and went back to work. I think thats about it I will update more as it comes along. Oh and a Happy Birthday to Kody who is turning 17 today which makes me want to cry that he is getting so old.

Hemp Fest and Friends!

Every year we go to Hemp Festival. This year the weekend of hemp fest Justin and his girlfriend Sarah came up to visit and Stephanie and Curt came down. Before Curt and Steph got here we went to Hemp fest while there I snapped a picture of this guy and his Budwiser hat :P
There was a live band playing and these are the gals that were hula hooping to the music.
And of course I had to get some pictures of the merchandise. These are the bongs.

After Hemp Fest we decided to go on a walk in the Arboretum. At the top Justin found a stick!
We saw a ton of fish and turtles. This little guy let us get right up close to him.
And the geese were nesting there as well.
At the end we climbed up to a part that over looked the golf course. Sarah and I decided to roll down the hill at the end.

After that we met up with Curt and Steph. Went to the park and played Frisbee, walked around and went to shops looking for a game that we never found. I ended up buying Balderdash instead. Then we came home and hung out for the rest of the night. It was a ton of fun.
